15 27th August 2006 (...)I just wished I was more conversant with mappering such that I could find all the right terms of praise for this mod, so will make do by stating that textures were great with design, sets and architecture within being among the best I have seen for some time, the use of light throughout was good you never felt at any time situation where too dark or too light just spot on right through the game. The scale and perspective within the design of all the sets and sequences was also spot on, so many mods get this wrong especially within the larger interior scenes. The balance of game play between combat, puzzles and walk abouts was right with only the mountain climb being far too long and the only part of the mod I found a bore and noclip (...) The use of cut-signs was well done and fitted neatly into the picture without ever being over done, to long or pointless. Also the way many of the explosive scenes were designed whereby multiple and knock-on effects were generated was a major feature throughout which added a touch of class to the mod and further enjoyment to the game play. The weapons along with their sounds and effects were first rate, with the shot gun and the sniper rifle being the best of their kind I have come across, I kept to the shot gun at all times and only changed from this when something more specialized was needed. As for the combat sequences, of which the are many, these were in the main fair and I think the mod would be best played on hard setting, I played on normal but will without a doubt play through this mod again this time on hard. Just to sum up, that whilst this mod is no Poke646 or Azure Sheep, They Hunger 3 or even Time Line II, short of these it's among the bests and when mods of this class come along (...)Go download and play.
(...)the whole game flowed well with each new level integrating well within the overall story and not until the last levels where you felt that either the team were not sure or agreed on how or when to finish did you feel a lack of continuity, but by then it did not matter and the team seemed to be having fun anyway. I like the narration throughout the game with most of it being relative to help the story and game flow (...) Mel
4th November 2007 A realy good mod, like it a lot, oh and it only took me 4 goes to jump onto the ladder and i only died once! (he said smuggly!) , died the first time missed the next two times but found i could hang onto the rocks and manuver sideways back to the ledge. wreade1872
It seem that the ladder jump became a key sceen for quit a few people but it was realy not on purpose and after a short training most of you could pass on to some more action.
I was surprised to see that there are still so many people who like to play Half Life mods and to read about the walkthrough after we released Black thunder nearly four years ago. I am pleased about those peoples who still appreciate our work!

I got a few requests where to download OpBT since most of the dowload links are offline. I decided to make a torrent file. It contains also the two updates for Steam and WON.
OpBT Torrent Alternative: Mirror 4 is still online and for the updates Mirror 2and3
Have fun! Cheers |

We would probably never have guessed that this modification would take us so long to complete, but its paid off - we have learnt loads and will be able to make use of the experience in future modifications and multiplayer maps.
Apart from adding a functional multiplayer mode for Operation Black Thunder we're also planning our next modification for HL2 but it's still in the early stages.
We will keep you informed |

I've finally finished the 4th episode. Its grown from 5 to 7 maps now and has improved quite a bit performance-wise. All that's left now are the 5th and 6th episode, though they shouldn't take that long in comparison to the 4th (edit 12.09.03: haha, should have known it would take much longer then I thought..) .You'll find new screenshots in the forum.
Dagobert is getting more involved with animation at the moment, which will open up the possibility of adding new models to the game. So far he's "just" added an animated jet that flies through one scene, but more will |

We're getting on quite well at the moment.
Dagobert has already worked on quite a few maps, so they'll finally run smoothly on older PCs too (as the old Half-Life did too). They've also improved quite a bit visually
I've worked on 3 maps so far, partly even rebuilt them completely. You'll find new screenshots of them in our forum.
We're trying to contact our webmaster at the moment to be able to upload screenshots directly into the screenshot section. Lets hope he replies soon
We've finally got hold of a very good modeller – welcome Nemesis!. Some of you may know him from the thewall.de forums.
